There is currently a !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! going on in Argentina, which is paralyzing mass transit there (buses and trains). One side effect is that the roughnecks on the oil rigs can't rotate crews.

I just spoke with a couple of high level oil rig engineers that work for a drilling company here in Houston. They said that the fresh crews that are set to replace the existing crews cannot swap out because the helicopter pilots are taking part in the strike. Why not take a boat, you ask? The boat captains are on strike as well.

The engineers speculated that the helicopter pilots WOULD fly out for a medical emergency, though. Their plan is to have the pilots fly out a tube of Preparation H to the rig and see if they would take some of the current crew back to the mainland. Seriously true story.

At least they aren't requiring the workers to !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! before they load them up in the whirly bird.

I know a dude that works for Oceaneering. He told me they feed you really good out in those rigs

It's true. Meals are pretty damned good from what I hear as well.

Can confirm, especially in the gulf when all the catering crews are from south Louisiana.

As someone that works offshore, this is my nightmare. I'd imagine they are still getting their groceries though, since the rigs I've been on get deliveries at least once a week.
